2006 Year in Review: Things Learned
Friday, December 29, 2006 at 9:50 pm
As part of my 2006 Year in Review, I felt it was important to list some of the things I learned this year.
- The Detroit Tigers CAN make it to the World Series.
- You can indeed freelance for your old employer again.
- If you ignore the releases of the Wii and PS3, you can fall in love with the old-school all over again. My arcade cabinet is under construction as we speak.
- The “Getting Things Done” workflow system by David Allen is helping me get organized – finally.
- Joining the Kalamazoo Jaycees was one of the smartest decisions I made, both personally and professionally.
- Online poker is the tool of Satan.
- That Bill Truesdell, he’s one hell of a writer.
- That Dan Hook, he’s one hell of an artist.
- That Joe Brown, he’s also one hell of an artist. So much so that I had to buy one of his works, my first “real” art purchase ever.
- New/improved friendships: Al, Bill, Cat, Cindy, Erin, Kirsten, Kalamazoo Jaycees… thank you all.
