Macworld Vacation: Day 3

Going in, I knew that Monday was going to be my last chance to take it easy. The rest of the week was booked solid with classes and parties, and Tuesday was going to be The Longest Day.

Get registered

Registration for Macworld started at 8 a.m., and Mike and I wanted to get that out of the way as soon as we could. Pretty smooth sailing – we arrived around 7:30, waited in line for a bit, and got all our gear.

The gear included our badges, a convention guide book, and a red tote bag – not the cool, PBS-style bag, but the kind that screams “I’ve just been to a convention!”

What to do

Mike had classes, so I had the day to myself. I was thinking it might be Museum Day, but I wasn’t finding many places I felt like visiting. Too weird, too expensive, too far out of the way…

Instead, I decided to head east towards the water. It was another long walk, but not as bad as The Walking Tour. I’m glad I made this trip, I got some great photos of the Ferry Building (a Farmer’s Market/shopping center) and the Bay Bridge (which connects San Francisco and Oakland).

Once again, though, I was very tired by the time I got back to the hotel. My feet were killing me.

Calm before the storm

The rest of the day and night were uneventful, and deliberately so. Mike and I stuffed ourselves on Uncle Vito’s pizza (delivered right to our room), like we were squirrels fattening up before winter.

We were, after all, preparing for an early wake-up call…
